The below was such a sweet note to receive from a parent of one of the kids I spoke to during Canadian Children’s Book Week!
The boy was so funny, smart and inquisitive, and we had a blast connecting. Actually, that about sums up my feelings about all the 400 kids from primary/kindergarten up to grade 8 I visited with last week!
What I also noticed time and again, was how committed teachers, librarians, and other staff were to these kids and their literacy and learning experiences. These kids came from all kinds of backgrounds, neurodiversities, had different interests, and I just saw so much care, connection, and concern for their wellbeing.
Thank you to the kids for their warm welcomes and the grownups for making these visits possible!
